Memoir of a Snail - who, over the age of its 15 Rating, would possibly choose to watch a stop-motion animation called Memoir of a Snail?? The answer should be - Everyone!

It’s a Tim Burton-esque/ Coraline-looking movie that will absolutely shock you with how good it actually is. I don’t think I would be exaggerating if I went as far as to say it is a masterpiece and you’ll only agree if you can find it to watch it.

It is a dark, melancholic, somewhat sad, somewhat uplifting (I think) - life story of Grace Pudel, who becomes a bit of a sad soul that lives within a shell of herself, due to one-thing-after-another sort of life.

The stop motion quality is fantastic and moves at pace, despite a depressing sort of atmosphere. Each scene is beautifully portrayed and you can expected to laugh out loud with surprise when the creators add another twist in her story to keep you captivated.

Surprisingly brilliant and absolutely no surprise to read that it is Oscar Nominated - an unexpected but completely deserved 8.1/10
