Newly released on Amazon Prime Video is the The Last Voyage of the Demeter - based on a chapter of Bram Stokers ‘Dracula’.

The movie plot is that of a Russian schooner (Large Sail Boat) - Demeter, which is chartered to transport a private cargo from Bulgaria to London. Some of the crew see the markings on the cargo boxes and refuse to take part in the voyage - so you know from the off, that something is amiss with this delivery.

The outcome of the journey is revealed at the start of the movie - which then goes on to show the events that took place aboard the doomed Demeter on this particular voyage.

Although a horror movie, its a timid one that won’t give you nightmares. There are some graphic scenes - so its the gore that certainly isn’t suitable for younger kids but I dont think young teens would have any issues with it.

It’s an enjoyable watch - the acting and graphics are good and it just about moves at the right pace to keep your attention throughout. It’s not amazing but its worth a watch if you like the horror genre. With all that, it’s a fun but tame 6.1/10 from us.
