Adolescence (2025)

AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX

Rated 15

Well….this mini series is quite something. It is smashing records all over the place for views and I can see why. Stephen Graham is also hot property in tv and movies at the moment, so make sure to check out “A Thousand Blows” - our TV Series of the Month for March.

Adolescence is the story of a 13 year old boy, accused of murdering one of his schoolmates. The show follows the intertwined stories of his arrest and how everyone is affected by this tragic incident - as they all seek to find out and understand what really happened and you as the viewer are waiting for the big plot twist in what is going on.

It is a really well acted and well filmed, psychological drama - that captures so many emotions. It’s not fast paced, but it is gripping. If you are a parent of a young teen, this is one of your worst nightmares and the undertone is to bring attention to the dangers of social media and the threat of misogynistic influences on young males. You’ll wish your kids didn’t have social media after watching this.

It’s 4 x 1hour episodes making it easily bingeable in a day. You probably don’t want to watch it if you suffer from social media anxiety already - its pretty dark from the get-go but otherwise, it’s well worth a watch if you like this sort of genre. If you want something more light hearted to watch - steer clear.

It’s a chilling watch and for those into this genre and we’re giving it a 8.1/10 .
